whois

👋 Hello! I’m Brian, and this is my blog about (mostly) my interest in computers. I’m currently a full stack software engineer and a lifelong hacker. I am interested in anything related to programming, hacking, cyber security, networking, CLI tools and workflows (check the dots), and privacy.

Outside of that:

  • I enjoy reading and writing about neurodiversity. I’m a passionate supporter of mental health awareness and neurodiversity acceptance.

  • I’ve been learning Arabic (some MSA and now focusing on Palestinian dialect) since 2022. It’s a beautiful language and I love the culture.

    • One of my current side projects is developing LearnArabic.cards - a flashcard app for learning Arabic vocabulary.
  • I’m a passionate support of Palestnian human rights as well as the safe and peaceful coexistence of all peoples in the Middle East.

  • I’m a wannabe homelabber. I say that because while it’s not something I’ve found the time for as much as I’d like, I’ve been meaning to write up a few posts about my modest home lab setup. So this is a reminder to myself to do that.

  • I love cooking. Don’t be surprised if you see a recipe post here every now and then.

  • I love music and I listen to lots of it. Some of my playlists can be found on Spotify:

    • Musical Stims - lyric-free music that’s like candy for my AuDHD brain
    • MidEast Vibes - a mix of Arabic songs and sounds I’ve collected since I started learning the language
    • ’00s Emo - classics from the emo/pop-punk era of the early 2000s
    • اغاني لوفي - lofi arabic beats for deep work and chill vibes
    • HappyHacker - electronic music for hacking and coding
    • DMFN - dance music for nerds, circa 2005, Greenville, NC
    • BugBounty - energetic music for hacking
    • Bedtime - self-explanatory
    • ASD Diagnosis - songs that resonate with discovering my neurodivergence
    • Space Cadet - songs to space out to
    • Metal/Harcdcore - when I want something heavier, and also for work.
  • And for work, I’m a senior software engineer currently specializing in AdTech systems, and with an eye towards AI engineering.

🏁 Capture The Flag (CTF) is basically digital scavenger hunting for computer geeks. And it’s a great way to learn the ins and outs of cyber security!

Sometimes I like to spend time practicing (ethical) hacking on TryHackMe which is why most of the content on this blog currently are CTF writeups.
