I have been learning Arabic for just over 3 years now. It has been an incredible experience that has also led me to a love of Palestinian and other Middle Eastern cuisines, Arabic music, new friends, and a deep compassion for a people living under a brutal occupation. This is the story of my experience learning a new language and beyond.

I was recently connected with the founder of a nonprofit organization, the TreeWater Initiative. They needed a website and I liked the idea of working on a project that would be a labor of love and creative flow, so I offered my help. This is an overview of how I encountered the opportunity, and how I built the site.
